For a nice day out you can visit either Watergate Bay which is less than 5 miles away The Eden Project which is easily accessible or alternatively the well-known town of St Ives which has a wonderful selection of restaurants boutique shops and the Tate Gallery. In the evening the area offers a variety of countryside pubs to suit all tastes Leisure facilities: shared hot tub (available from 27th March - until 30th October 2015). The accommodation is a lovingly converted barn set on one level and offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size (available as a twin on request) with en-suite wet room and 1 further king-size (available as a twin on request) both with T.V and freeview. Bathroom: bath with shower over and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan with slate and oak flooring 50 flatscreen TV Freeview DVD CD iPod dock and woodburner (first basket of logs included). Dining area with seating for four. Kitchen area with electric cooker gas hob microwave fridge with ice compartment dishwasher and washing machine. Use of tumble dryer. Amenities: 2 dogs welcome. The immensely popular resort of Newquay, on the north Cornwall coast, is especially favoured by surfers, and can indeed be considered the surfing capital of Cornwall – the UK even - because of the superb conditions for surfing provided by the north Atlantic coast, particularly as it breaks upon Fistral beach. Newquay has regularly played host to a number of surfing championships, including the world surfing championships, and the influence of surfing, and the tourists it attracts, can be seen throughout the town.
But it’s not all surfing at Newquay. The large sandy beaches, shops, restaurants, local fishing and many holiday attractions within driving distance (including a great aquarium on Newquay’s own sea front), continue to attract visitors year after year. It may not be the ideal location for a quiet ‘get away from it all’ escape, but for families, surfers, the young, and even the not so young, Newquay has a great deal to offer. There is a wide range of accommodation in the area, including a number of holiday parks as well as cottages, B&Bs, hotels and of course campsites. Whatever your budget, whatever your taste, you’ll find something to suit in the area – and Go2 makes finding it easy.
Newquay provides good transport facilities, with its own railway station, the terminus for the Atlantic Coast line which runs from Par, and provides access by rail directly from London and other major cities. There are also regular coach trips to Newquay and the town even has its own local airport providing access by air from other parts of the UK.
